2025-09-21 - NOSTR

I've lately been messing around with NOSTR. What I like most about it is that it's pretty close to what I would have implemented - users are defined by cryptographically secured profiles (your identity is your public key) and all of the information is hosted on relays.

It's basically uncensorable. As long as there are relays that are willing to host your information no one can prevent you from publishing it.

Another interesting property is its inherent association with Bitcoin. Most of the crypto and address standards come straight from the BIPs, and so many people who post on the network are BTC-maximalist crypto-anarchists. I feel right at home.
